“Friday mornings are suppose to be the end of a hard week. My wife Shirley and I had to go visit our internist because she was experiencing headaches and had a very slight droop on the side of her mouth that would disappear by afternoon. We sat in the examination room together. The doctor asked her for a copy of her drivers license. I remembered that every license has a recent picture on it. Very clever way to check for the slight facial droop. Sure enough, he saw it too. He asked her to turn her hands over and back together while holding them in front of her body. She had some problems with this. He then asked her to close her eyes, stand up and keep her balance. She had trouble with that tool. That was it. He was sure she probably had an undiagnosed case of lime disease. If you miss the flu like symptoms, the disease can lay dormant for years and come back in your central nervous system. I thought he was probably right, but just to be sure, he wanted us to go have an MRI. I asked if I should set up an appointment. He said, “How about we go over and have it done in 15 minutes?
