My friend Daryn gave me a sage piece of advice the night before I returned to the anchor desk. I was still in shock from losing my husband Will to cancer. I had no idea how I was going to go on the air the next day. Daryn looked me square in the eye and said: “The anchor desk is the one place where you are in control. This is what you know how to do. It’s your safe place”. I am so proud to be running her series of inspirational stories about people who are taking control of their lives, despite cancer. I learn from my friends every day. And I take strength in seeing survivors living large. Our Cancer Series officially starts Monday. Let me know about the people you know who are battling cancer. Do you find inspiration in these stories? See you Monday! And remember to SCROLL TO THE POLL! And Vote!
